Wäre eine Gesellschaft, in der Arbeit um jeden Preis nicht mehr das Ideal ist, noch die unsere? Wie sieht die Rolle des Künstlers aus? Warum ist Arbeit zur wichtigen moralischen Legitimationsgröße geworden, und was ist mit unterscheidet Arbeit vom tätig sein oder vom Aktivität? Wie ordnet sich das in ein ökonomisch geprägtes Zeitbild ein? Arbeitsgeist arbeitet mit diesen Fragen aus der Sicht von Künstlern, und lädt Gäste aus allen Bereichen dazu ein. "Das ökonomische Umfeld" als eine Station von Arbeitsgeist untersucht die ökonomische Rolle von Künstlern in der Arbeitsgesellschaft. Mit dem Wandel des klassischen Künstlerbildes haben sich dessen Betätigungsfelder und Kompetenzen verändert. Können dabei Modelle entstehen, die für einen flexiblen Arbeitsmarkt interessant sind? Oder als künstlerische Intervention verstanden werden sollten? "Das ökonomische Umfeld" in der Galerie Olaf Stüber bietet viele Materialien zum durchsehen, die Künstler werden meistens da sein, und einen Kaffee werden Sie auch bekommen. What might an alternative to the labour society look like? Would a society in which "work at any price" is no longer the ideal still be our own? How does the roll of the artist look like in such a surrounding? Why has work become the key issue for moral legitimation, and what distinguishes labour from being active or agency? How does the artist fit into an economic coined zeitgeist? The spirit of work deals with these questions from the point of view of an artist, and invites guests from all subjects to contribute. "The economic context", as a part of The Spirit of Work", investigates the economic role of artists within our changing society, a society that manifests itself through work. With the change of the classic stereotype of the artist, the competencies and the areas of work for the artist have been amplified. Is it possible that models develop which could be interesting for the flexible labour market? Or, to take it the other way round, which could be understood as artistic intervention? "The economic context" in the Gallery Olaf Stüber offers materials to browse through, the artists will be present in the show, and you can get a coffee. We would be glad to see you there.
